| kittens, kittens, kittens! they're crawling out of the woodwork! they're mutliplying by the minute! they're taking overrrrrrrrr! hahahah
feels like that i tell you...we went and got three kittens for the hostel couple weeks back..and after the first two days of demure, cowering-in-the-box behaviour they've suddenly shed all reservations (claws and teeth included mind you!)
hmmm....i think i'm beginning to look like a sieve - i have so many holes all over me from being a tyrant ("how dare you put flea powder all over me! undignified!) scratch-post , thing-to-take-out-nightmare-fears-on (Adrak's been coming and under the blanket with me and god help! if i shift in my sleep...bah-)...she's too cute and warm and furry to chuck out course
oh and the names...we had a blast with those...all three have hindi names so wont make much sense but we finally decided on - Adrak, Chingari and Batasha - translated roughly: ginger (which sounds supremely boring in english but is a nice hindi word), spark (the ones that fly from wood fires...aptly named i must say...what a wild cat that one) and batasha is a flat white sweet served on certain festivals....
kittens, kittens, kittens *sigh*
| new juniors are such fun! *evil grin* but i mean seriously...give me timid new posties from all urban city environments and a 110 acre jungle-d animal filled campus and...well what do u expect me to do? sit on my ass?!! oh man...leopard stories (we do have a whole family around) , haunted house stories (murders and conspiracies thrown in, shattered windows, unexplained noises...the lot!)...ooh what fun...poor things...i think they spent their first night sitting up in the dark with torches in their hands....ok i'm exaggerating...but we took it out of them full time...suprisingly they still dont seem to mind me that much ;) | | |
| oooooooooty- no offence but only the brits wud come up wit a name like that...well in any case they did...for this little hill station amid the Nilgiri range in the western ghats...well the town itself is no longer little (big n crowded n ugly) but driving a little way out to Lovedale (i rest my case about names..!)..which btw has the cutest lil 19th century brick and wooden platform...complete wit a bright n cheery diesel engine pulling smart lil carriages chugging up the hillside...dint manage to get a ride on it but followed the tracks a long way into the grassy hills...along rockys ledges, greeting all the local dogs...
got in quite a bit of exploring (great fun!) between the (not so fun) socializing wit some family friends and getting shat on by a crow (NOT FUN AT ALL) yech...welcome to india! though i suppose crows shit there too huh? neone had any memorable experiences with crows then?
